Marketing, sales, service, product & development, finance and HR all sit under one roof, across two floors designed around our values. It’s an informal, results-driven place, and we have lunch together every single day. With more than ten nationalities working side by side, you’ll hear a handful of languages over that lunch.
Add fresh fruit, weekly Friday drinks, parties and a healthy dose of sports events, and you’ve got an office people actually look forward to coming to. Easy to reach by bike or train, ten minutes from the centre of Haarlem.
You do not just join a company, you join the place around it. Our office sits in Haarlem, a compact, historic city in North Holland that quietly does a lot of things better than its famous neighbour.
It is calmer and more affordable than Amsterdam, with more room to actually live, and Amsterdam Centraal is still only about fifteen minutes away by train. So you get the city when you want it, without the price tag or the crowds when you do not.
It is also a genuinely good place to put down roots: green space, good schools and a real sense of community, whether you are moving from another city or from another country.
HotelSpecials started in 2002, when Remco and Nick set out to make short breaks easier and more honest, well before most of travel had moved online. Two decades on we run seven websites across seven countries and work with more than 5,000 hotels, still from our own two offices in Haarlem and Stockholm.
We stayed informal and flat as we grew: short lines, little hierarchy, and a direction we set together with OKRs, so everyone can see what we are working towards. Results-driven, and human about it.
It all runs on three core values that stay in balance. Full of action keeps us moving, Interaction keeps us learning, and Specialists keeps us sharp. They are not a poster on the wall, they are how we make decisions every day.
